Make your Steam profile and inventory public

Summary: Steam Bulk Sell reads only public Steam data, so your Steam profile and inventory must be set to Public in Steam's privacy settings before the builder can list your items. After changing the setting, wait a minute and load the inventory again. You can set it back to private once your listings are made; the site never asks for a password, API key or browser extension.

Steam Bulk Sell only reads public Steam data. There's no login, no Steam Web API key and no browser extension, so the site sees exactly what a stranger looking at your profile would see. If your inventory is private, the builder can't list your items.

Steps

  1. While signed in to Steam, open your Steam privacy settings.
  2. Set My profile to Public.
  3. Set Inventory to Public.
  4. Optional: set Game details to Public as well.
  5. Save the changes if Steam shows a Save button. Wait a minute, then go back to the game page on Steam Bulk Sell and click Load inventory again.

Check that it worked

Open a private or incognito browser window where you're not signed in to Steam, and visit your profile's inventory page. If you can see your items as a logged-out visitor, Steam Bulk Sell can load them too. If you can't, the privacy setting hasn't applied yet or the inventory is still set to Friends Only or Private.

Still not loading?

  • Wrong game. Inventories are per game. Make sure you're on the builder page for the game whose items you want to sell.
  • Nothing marketable. The builder only shows items Steam marks as *commodities*. Unique items (most CS2 skins, unusual hats, and so on) won't appear. See Steam Market selling requirements.
  • Steam is slow or rate-limiting. Steam's inventory service sometimes fails or throttles requests. Wait a minute and try again.
  • Wrong profile. Paste the full profile URL (https://steamcommunity.com/id/yourname or https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656…). The builder accepts a custom URL name or a 17-digit SteamID64 too.

Make it private again afterwards

You only need a public inventory while Steam Bulk Sell is loading your items. Once your Multisell link is built, you can set your inventory back to Private. The link keeps working, because the actual listing happens on steamcommunity.com while you're signed in.
